Why a tower link works where cable won’t
The cable and phone companies have to run a line past every house between their equipment and yours, so the line stops where the subdivisions stop. We don’t run a line to your road at all. We put a small receiver at your house, aimed at a sector on the nearest of our 19 towers — if your address has a clear path to one, you can have service, half-acre lot or ten acres down a caliche road.
Built for the busy hours
We size every tower sector for its worst hour — the evening when your whole road is streaming — and add capacity before it gets tight, not after. Your plan speed should hold up at eight o’clock on a Tuesday, not just on the day it’s installed, so we don’t put more customers on a sector than it can carry.
What the installer actually does
A local tech mounts and aims the receiver, runs the cable inside, sets up your Wi-Fi and shows you the customer portal. Trees or a barn in the way? A pole up to 30 feet is part of the standard install, and height is usually what turns a marginal signal into a clean one.
Gigabit where 6G is live
UnFiber 6G runs in Elmendorf and around La Vernia; addresses inside that footprint can take UnFiber Gigabit. Everywhere else runs to 300/50 today, and the checker at the top of this page tells you which speeds your address can hold. Fiber to the home is built in select parts of Sandy Oaks — see fiber internet if that’s your area.
We build in fourteen towns across Bexar, Wilson, Guadalupe and Atascosa counties; the full list is further down this page.

Questions
How fast can I get?
Three residential plans: UnFiber 100 (100/20), UnFiber 300 (300/50) and UnFiber Gigabit (1,000/100) where UnFiber 6G is live. The checker tells you which ones your address can hold.
Can I get a static IP at home?
Residential plans get a dynamic address automatically — one less thing to manage, and your gear isn’t sitting on a fixed public address. If you need a public static IP, that comes with every Business Broadband plan.
What does "up to" mean on these speeds?
It’s the engineered ceiling for your plan. Most of the time you’ll see it; in an unusually heavy hour you might not. There are no caps and no overage charges either way.
Is it good for gaming?
Yes. Typically 10–12 ms from your receiver to the tower, plus about 2 ms across our own network — roughly 12–14 ms end to end. There is no satellite hop and no long haul to another city, so gaming, video calls and remote desktop behave like a wired connection.
Does weather knock it out?
Heavy weather can affect any wireless link, which is why the install aims for a clean path and enough height instead of a marginal one. If service does drop, support answers around the clock on 888-758-5986 and the techs who come out live here.
