A tower a few miles away, not a satellite
UnFiber Internet® is a ground-based link. Typically 10–12 ms from the receiver at your house to the tower, plus about 2 ms across our own network — in our own testing that is roughly half the latency of a satellite link at the same address, and most plans carry more bandwidth than the tier people buy. A small receiver at your house talks to a sector on the nearest of our nineteen towers, and from there your traffic goes down our own backhaul to the internet. The distance the signal travels is measured in miles rather than in trips to orbit, which is why the latency behaves like a wired connection.

What the install looks like
A local tech comes out, checks the path on site, mounts and aims the receiver, runs the cable inside, sets up your Wi-Fi and shows you the customer portal. Standard installation is free, a pole up to 30 feet included when trees or a barn are in the way, and there is nothing to order, unbox or point yourself. Installs usually happen within days of your address checking out.
What it costs to try
There is no long-term contract to sign, no data cap and no equipment to buy. Whole-home Wi-Fi comes with every UnFiber plan, and you have 30 days to change your mind — keep the dish on the roof until you’re sure if you like. Unlimited data, no priority tiers, no overage line — on every plan.
The honest catch
We need a path. If your address sits behind a hill or a stand of oaks with nothing tall enough to get over them, a tower can’t reach you and we will say so rather than sell you a marginal link. That is exactly what the checker at the top of this page is for: put in the address and you get our real answer, from our own coverage map, in seconds. If it’s no today, we’ll take your details and come back when a tower gets closer.

Questions
What replaces the dish?
A small receiver at your house — on the eave, a wall or a short pole — aimed at the nearest of our nineteen towers. A local tech mounts it, aims it, runs the cable inside and sets up your Wi-Fi — you don’t assemble or point anything yourself.
Do I need a clear view of the sky?
No — you need a clear path to one of our towers, which is a different question. Trees, a barn or a hill can block it, which is why the installer checks the path on site and why a pole up to 30 feet is part of the standard install.
How soon could I be online?
Once your address checks out we book an installer, and installs usually happen within days. There is no hardware to order and wait on — the receiver comes with the tech.
